Step 1: Prepare the materials
The first step is to gather the materials that you will need: a basin, half-filled with water, a mirror and a piece of white card. You will also need to pick a sunny location for best results.
Step 2: Place the mirror in the water
The next step is to place the mirror at an angle within the basin of water. Place the mirror so that it is submerged approximately half-way in the water.
Step 3: Hold the white paper above the mirror
This step will require a bit of experimentation to achieve the best results. Hold the white paper in the air above the mirror and continue to adjust the paper until you see a rainbow appear.
It may take a few attempts to achieve the correct angle but when the adjustment is correct you will see the most amazing rainbow magically appear on the paper!
Continue to adjust the paper in different directions to marvel at the wonderful array of vibrant rainbow colours that appear!
