Step 1 – Prepare the materials
The materials are really easy to set-up for this Q-Tip painting project, all you need is white paper, q-tips and a selection of acrylic paints and you are ready to start creating!
Step 2 -Choose the design for your q-tip painting project
Children may choose to first sketch the outline of their idea using a pencil on the white paper. Alternatively they may not wish to follow a sketch and may choose to simply follow and abstract design.
Step 3 -Start painting with q-tips
Painting with q-tips is really fun, all you need to do is select a colour, dip the q-tip into the paint and gently dab the q-tip on the paper. The q-tip will leave a perfect dot of paint on the paper, you can follow this process to create patterns and designs within your painting. Children may also choose to swirl the q-tip around on the paper to create fun designs.
Step 4 – Display the finished work for your q-tip painting project
Once your q-tip paintings are complete you can choose your favourite creations for display!
