Step 1: Prepare the materials
This is a really simple project to set-up, all you need is white paper and a selection of poster paints. It’s also beneficial to protect work surfaces and to set up a wash-basin for after the activity.
Step 2: Finger Painting
The best approach is to allow each child to use their imagination to come up with their own painting concept and to allow them to explore the use of finger painting in anyway they wish. They will also enjoy using their fingers to mix paints within the paint dish to create unique and vibrant colours.
Step 3: Experiment with different techniques
As the painting progresses children may like to explore using different techniques such as exploring the effects of using their thumb, or different fingers, or they may wish to run their nails through the paint to create a streaked effect.
Step 4: Display the artwork
When the painting is complete it can be left to dry and will make a wonderful addition to any display of artwork!
