Dinosaur Snow Globe Craft Project

Snow globes are a fun way to enable children to explore placing items under water and giving them a sparkly effect. Children will also have lots of fun collecting items to create their very own dinosaur snow globe scene!

Step 1 – Prepare the materials

The first step is to collect the items you will need to create the snow globe. You can choose a medium size glass jar with a lid. Children will have fun exploring to find items to build their dinosaur scene, they may choose a small dinosaur figure along with some items from the garden such as stones or a small twig from an evergreen tree.

Step 2 – Build the dinosaur scene with a hot glue gun

First get the lid of the glass jar and place it upside down as the base for the scene. The next step is to create the dinosaur scene, an adult can use a hot glue gun to attach the items onto the side of the lid that is facing upwards. Once glued, leave the items to set in place.

Step 3 – Add glitter and snowflakes to the jar

The next step is to add items to the jar that will reflect snow; you may have craft items that reflect snowflakes, or you can simply add glitter to create a sparkly effect.

Step 4 -Fill the glass jar with water

Once you have added snow you can then fill the glass jar approximately ¾ full with water. After the water has been placed in the jar, take the dinosaur scene which is now secured on the lid, gently attach it into the jar and screw the lid into place.

Step 5 – Shake the jar to create a snow globe

The final step is to turn the jar upside down and shake the jar to diffuse the snow and glitter and then marvel at the magic of your newly created snow globe!
